Night Drives

Lines/Contrast

In photography "lines" is used to direct or add interest to an image. In this photo I used lines for both. There are leading lines on the road and other lines on the building, that add interest to the photo as they go in multiple different directions.

Finger Spin

Shape/Movement & Rhythm

In photography, photographers use shape to create character or highlight a subject in the photo. Using shapes in photography can also be your subject, like the photo above.

Just Going For A Swim

Space/Emphasis

In photography "space" is a technique used to guide the viewers eyes and add emphasis to a photo it can also be used to add a sense of calmness to the photo. Using empty space in a photo draws attention to your main subject, like shown in the photo above. You also don't have to use empty space to highlight your subject you could also use the opposite to highlight the subject.

Spring Flowers

Colour/Pattern & Repetition

"Colour" is a technique that photographers use to highlight or add interest to their photo's. They can achieve this by putting a light subject in a dark back ground like the photo above, or they could do the opposite by putting a dark object in a light background.

Rocky Rapids

Value/Balance

In photography "balance" is a technique that creates a sense of equal weight. You can achieve this by using symmetry, colour, asymmetry, shapes, and balance like used in the photo above. Using balance is a great way to turn a plain boring image into a beautiful masterpiece.

Playing in Spring

Texture/Unity

Using texture in photos is one of the easiest ways to get an amazing photo. Typically photographers use texture to show how something visually feels instead of physically. Texture can be smooth, soft, rough, sticky, and more! I used a soft subject and sort of rough background to take this adorable photo.
